Sunset In Hawaiʻi - by Gene Burdette

A day on the beach in the island’s warm sun
Watching sails drift out to sea
Impatient I wait for the first star at dusk
For only sunset brings you to me

Sunset in Hawaiʻi
With the sky’s magic blue
Painting mem’ries of you
At sunset in Hawaiʻi

I believed that your love was true
My dream always ends with the dawn
Reality tells me you’re gone
But, at sunset in Hawaiʻi

I keep hoping you’re still my own
And I’m waiting here alone
