My Pupule Lio (My Crazy Horse) - Helo Domenici

Hele honohono lio noho wau
From a kai yai yippee from a kai yai yippee
Auwē, auwē.

When I get on my pupule lio
Every thing seems fine, okay
But when I say hele holo lio
He huli back the other way

All he likes to do is just pāʻina
When he sleeps you always hear him bray
Never can I go a holo lio
My pupule lio, auwē!

When I say get up there
He pili a huli too
Maybe he kolohe or kākiʻo, too
He's kaumaha nui and momona, too
He's maka paʻa, why he's really kāhū lu

Oh I wish that I could sell this lio
For he's really, very dear to me
Pretty soon he's going to drive me lolo
My pupule lio, auwē!

My pupule lio, auwē!
